Terms of use
These terms cover ordinary play, shared scores, custom level codes, and acceptable use of Patches.cafe. They are written for a free browser game, not a subscription service.
1. About Patches.cafe
Patches.cafe is a free browser puzzle created and operated by Krystian Welcel under hsr.gg. By playing the game, submitting a leaderboard score, or sharing a level code, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The game is intended for personal entertainment. It does not sell a subscription, require a user account, or promise a monetary reward for scores, stars, achievements, or leaderboard positions.
2. Fair and acceptable use
You may play for personal, non-commercial purposes and share result cards or level codes generated by the built-in tools. You may discuss, review, stream, or record ordinary gameplay.
Do not interfere with the service, overload the leaderboard API, probe safeguards without permission, or attempt to gain access to data that does not belong to you. Do not manipulate scores or use scripts, bots, modified requests, or other automation to obtain an unfair leaderboard position.
Leaderboard names must not be unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or designed to impersonate another person or organisation. Scores and names that break these rules may be corrected, hidden, or removed.
3. Browser saves and leaderboard records
Campaign progress, settings, achievements, and custom levels are stored in localStorage. Clearing browser data, switching profiles or devices, or using private browsing may remove or separate that save. Patches.cafe does not guarantee recovery of local progress.
The online leaderboard is a separate feature. It keeps an anonymous identifier hash, a nickname, and positive scores. A leaderboard entry does not create a user account or establish ownership of a nickname. Details about deletion and processing appear in the privacy policy.
Google Analytics is optional. It remains blocked until analytics consent is given, and refusing consent does not limit the game. A player may change that choice through Cookie settings in the footer. Details about cookies, purposes, providers, and withdrawal appear in the privacy policy.
4. Player-created levels
The editor creates a share code from a finished patch layout. You are responsible for codes you distribute and for any accompanying message or context. Do not use the editor or level names to spread unlawful, abusive, or harmful content.
Anyone who receives a valid code may import, play, and share it. Submitting a code does not transfer ownership of the game, editor, file format, interface, or built-in artwork. The operator may change the code format when needed for compatibility or security.
5. Availability and changes
The game is provided in its currently available form. Levels, mechanics, scoring rules, achievements, music, and online features may change. Maintenance, provider failures, browser updates, or network problems may interrupt access.
Reasonable care is taken to keep the game playable and protect the leaderboard, but uninterrupted availability and permanent preservation of local saves are not guaranteed. Patches.cafe may close or replace an online feature if operating it is no longer practical or safe.
6. Game rights
The Patches.cafe name, interface, original artwork, written content, generated level system, and game assets are protected by applicable law. These terms allow you to play and to use the built-in sharing features. They do not transfer ownership of the game or grant permission to resell its assets as a separate product.
Third-party fonts, icons, hosting tools, and libraries remain subject to their own licences and terms.
7. Responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect loss caused by unavailable service, loss of a local browser save, or reliance on an online leaderboard position. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes and contact
The current terms are published at this address. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Questions can be sent to kontakt@hsr.gg.
